Several years ago, as I began to write the Self Help Courses, I began to have thoughts along the lines of condensing the main content of what I was trying to present, into Poetry form for people to understand at a glance.

My very first poem, titled Negativity, addressed head on, just how negativity will destroy us if we stay stuck within its clutches. Any person who has completed the Self Esteem building course with me, would have come across this short poem very early on. I received very positive feedback about it and it was apparent that each person recognised the negativity which had plagued their life from time to time.

The next poem to evolve was titled The Nightmare of Distortion and this one described the corrosion which will happen with any relationship if we refuse to address our deep down hurts and disappointments which we have experienced prior to forming a relationship with another person.

Within all of us there is a little pest which is known as our Internal Critic. This critic has the ability to destroy our thoughts about our self, also our belief in our self and our abilities. Hence the following poem evolved, titled The Critic, which creates insight for us into just how this critic will take us over and try to destroy us at every opportunity.

Probably the longest and more condensed poem I have written to date is the one titled Boundaries. This poem is an expose of the necessary boundaries for life. Whenever we are without boundaries to live within, there is insecurity and fear and the display of unacceptable behaviour will readily become apparent. This will shame and embarrass us on a continuum.

Come On Little Daisy, presents our Inner Child’s emptiness, misunderstanding and longing from our childhood. This poem describes my own personal journey through my childhood. If we are to heal from our hurt, we must be in touch with the Innocent child within us. Our longing and our emptiness, also our failure to understand much of our adult suffering, can be directly linked with our experiences of childhood, where we were often left without much explanation of what was going on around us.

This collection has been written from my heart and exhibits explanation and understanding toward much of the hurt and wonder of our life’s journey.

I truly hope you find something within this little beautifully illustrated and presented book, which will set your heart free in some little way.
